The medicinal and cosmetic properties of neem oil are so numerous Neem leaves and neem bark are reported to be effective for cuts, bruises, skin disorders and acne; and as a cosmetic to remove skin blemishes. Medically, it is effective as an analgesic, especially for earaches and headaches. It is also effective in controlling diabetes. In fact, neem leaves are traditional herbs for treating diabetes (Alam et al, 1989) and has been specifically proven to be effective in preventing and treating the disease (Murthy, 1978).

Neem Oil has been found useful
for a number of skin and scalp imbalances:

Neem oil’s highly concentrated anti-microbial active ingredients can be used directly on cuts, scrapes or serious skin conditions. The concentrated essential fatty acids help to restore moisture and elasticity to the skin while it disinfects and heals.

Neem Oil can be used either full strength or added to shampoo, lotions or creams to enhance the neem action on the skin.

Directions (For external use only):

Apply sparingly several times a day to affected areas. You may also add 15 to 20 drops of Neem Oil to 3 handfuls (8 ounces) of your favorite shampoo, massage oil or lotion.

The Wonder of Azadirachtin

The main active ingredient of Neem is Azadirachtin,It exhibits and has antifeedant,insect repellent and insect sterilization properties. It is so potent that quantities as low as 1 ppm will totally repel certain insects.

Unlike many synthetic insecticides (which are very toxic),low dozes of azadirachtin were found to have little or no mammalian toxicity,and insects showed little resistance to the compound.

Common insects affected by neem extracts includes:

roaches,beettles,flies,mosquitoes,caterpillars,locusts,grasshoppers,aphils,weevils,and moths. Neem Oil also keeps pets free from ticks scab,and mites.
